Wednesday night solo gig at The Green Room, Sheffield. Really enjoyed this one. Not only did I get the chance to play some songs I've never played live before (Leaves Only Blood and Certainty Fails) but I really enjoyed listening to the other acts. Songs played were:

Sunday night Dead Empires gig at The Dove and Rainbow , Sheffield. I'll be played bass. It turned out to be the last Dead Empire gig...need I say more...

Wednesday night Steve Spray and Julian Shaw gig at The Green Room. I played lead guitar and Steve sang. Good fun night out, especially considering we swung our pants and 3 lap dancers turned up randomly to support us!! Our set was:

This Wednesday night solo gig at The Green Room didn't have the best turnout ever (where was everyone??). Though thankfully it was worthwhile as I got to play three songs I've never played before...it's always nice to increase the repertoire - you never know when you are going to be asked to do a 2 hour set at the Glastonbury Festival. This was the first time I got to play my new song "Here is Your Someday", co-written with Nik Gill. The songs I played were:

Saturday night last minute gig thrown at me to play The Grapes. I enjoyed the gig, and the company. Photos on the images page. I was poorly rehearsed so for ease I did a set heavy with covers that I was comfortable with. The set list was:

Sunday night Alternative Eden gig at The Black Bull in Aston-cum-Aughton, nr Rotherham. Hmmm Alternative Eden didn't play this gig...

Wednesday night acoustic gig for Julian and Steve at the Green Room. Steve says "this is our chance to play some classics from the Venetian Effect days and also a few songs that never saw the light of day, most of which wouldn't sit well in the Alternative Eden set. It's nice to return to my roots". Julian says "it's a great opportunity for us to play some songs penned under our singer-songwriter alter-egos...and for me it's great to play a bit of lead guitar again after such a long time. Most of all it's nice not to have to wear black...maybe I'll get my lumber-jack outfit and slippers out of the wardrobe!".

Friday night Alternative Eden gig at The Nelson, Sheffield. I played bass. Interesting first and only gig.

Julian Shaw solo acoustic gig at the Green Room. Pictures can be seen on the images page.

An unusual gig considering it was meant to be an Alternative Eden gig. The 13th turned out unlucky for some: first Liam got his gear nicked out of his car and then Steve was in pain with his back. Super-Julian steps in and saves the day by delivering the standard set with a twist (Steve managed to get up and do a song near the end). The set list was as follows:
